The History of The Mews
Muirfield Village began in 1974 as the dream of Jack Nicklaus and Muirfield Limited, in association with top architects and builders. Their vision was then and remains today to preserve the environment and complement the natural beauty of the land as the setting for tasteful homes, peaceful neighborhoods and a world class golf course.
Today, nearly 2400 families call Muirfield Village home.
In 1976, the Mews was the first condominium community built at Muirfield. Wandel and Schnell Architects with builder Jim Jentgen fashioned our street to resemble a quaint English village.
The Mews was immediately recognized as a highly desirable property. “Lavish and luxurious” were terms used to describe the condominium units in a 1977 Columbus Dispatch feature article.
The quality of the construction, the design, the convenient layout, the Muirfield amenities and the proximity to the Muirfield Village Golf Club made the units very popular with buyers ready for the condominium lifestyle.
Then and now, each owner has done his own decorating and thus individualized the interiors.
A few of the original owners remain, but over the years most of units have sold and resold. However, the qualities that enchanted buyers in 1976 delight our owners today.
